Carrin Tunney is Director, Technology and Architecture at DTE Energy and is responsible for shaping and implementing the technology agenda across all company platforms. She has led technology change spanning customer and mobile application development, enterprise architecture, emerging technology and innovation, and modern workplace strategies. She joined DTE to drive its technology transformation programs in tandem with business strategy shifts including cloud computing, API led application modernization, and delivering software at speed.
Carrin has more than 20 years of information technology experience, spanning software development, architecture and leadership roles across both consulting and large enterprises. Prior to joining DTE, Carrin served as Chief Enterprise Architect for Flagstar Bank and Director of Enterprise Architecture for Ally Financial. She holds an Industrial & Systems Engineering degree from the University of Florida and has over 15 years experience in the utility sector. Throughout her career, she has been a speaker at several technology and industry conferences and served two terms as DTE’s technology representative on the NIST Smart Grid Architecture committee. She holds multiple industry certifications including enterprise architecture, information security and lean six sigma
